Indigenous Veterans Day

On November 8 SD8 pays tribute to the First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples who have served and continue to serve in Canada’s military in times of war and peace.

Indigenous peoples have fought and died on behalf of Canadians for the last two centuries and continue to protect and serve in Canada’s military today.
   
There are 23 thousand Indigenous Veterans and more than 55 hundred Indigenous members serving in Canada’s military.
