Breakfast Team

A Nutritious, Delicious Start to the Day

Salmo Elementary School students enjoyed a delicious hot breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs and fruit on November 20. Staff from the SD8 board office (SBO) in Nelson were on site early to prepare food, serve students and clean up after the meal.

Positivity radiated throughout the school during and after breakfast as children ate together then returned to their lessons and activities having enjoyed a warm meal and friendly company to start the day.

Thanks for Making Breakfast Happen

Thanks to Salmo Elementary teachers, support staff and Principal Rod Giles for creating such a welcoming atmosphere and helping students from grades 1 through 6 as they lined up for food then carefully navigated the halls with full plates - almost no spills! Thanks to Kelly McCafferty for organizing the breakfast; thanks to Save-On-Foods for packaging up healthy ingredients for pickup and on-site delivery; thanks to the SES PAC for kitchen guidance; and thanks to the SBO kitchen crew Gita Moore, Jonathan Brooks, Javier Gonzalez, Jesse Halton and Frances Maika for chopping, flipping, mixing, scrambling, smiling and washing up. A team effort!
